Richard Stanley Wyand Jr., 66, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on August 12, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. Born on May 30, 1959, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Richard S. and Shirley J. Wyand.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry A. Wyand, and his brother-in-law, Rodney A. Miller.
Richard was a dedicated collector of sports memorabilia, a passion that reflected his deep love for all sports. His favorite teams—the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles—held a special place in his heart, but his enthusiasm reached far beyond them. He was the quintessential sports fan, always finding joy in the excitement of competition and never missing a chance to watch a game.
Known for his outgoing personality, Richard was truly the life of the party. A natural jokester, he had an incredible gift for making people laugh and brightening any room he entered. He was a beloved member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Hagerstown. His interests also included horse racing, which added another dimension to his vibrant and colorful character.
He is survived by his son, Jesse A. Wyand, and wife Jasmine; sister, Vicki Miller; girlfriend, Brenda Sharrah; grandsons, Cameron J. Wyand and Colton P. Wyand; nieces, Kara Miller Ebersole and her fiancé, Brian, and Cheree Miller-Jacoby and her husband Jeremy; great-niece, Megan Jacoby; great-nephews, Trey Ebersole and Ryan Jacoby. Richard also shared countless treasured memories with his lifelong friend, Cheryl “Sissy” Owens, and many other loving friends and family members who will deeply miss his infectious laughter and generous spirit.
