Jianyhua, Martha, Nathan, Daniel and the entire Yurko family I wish to extend my deepest condolences on Richard´s passing. I, like you all was shocked to learn of this devastating news. I have many fond memories of Richard that I will always cherish. I have always been very proud of him and his achievements a gentle, kind old soul that spoke with wisdom. Every time we talked he always invited me and Diane to Boston. I will regret not taking the time to visit him. So sorry for your loss.

I have so many memories of my brother Rich. I'll remember the car trip across the US,where he left my father at the ice cream stand. I also remember the off key singing of Sweet Caroline, when he was making cables in Mom's work area. Love you forever, Pat Dekin

Several memories of Richard as a teenager. Rich was president of our high school class of `71 and as such would invite classmates to his home to make decorations for football games, homecoming, etc. The Yurko household was always a buzz of activity with younger family members addressing Rich as "Ricky". What a joyful time!

Even though we were sometimes oceans apart my brother Rich and I supported each other throughout our lives. He was a loyal, intelligent, humorous, and loving brother to us all. As my sister Janice just said - Rich was also instrumental in my transition to a more caring and supportive liberal person. Thanks for that Rich- and thanks for all the stories - you added so much spirit and humor to our lives. Your loving brother. Allen.

Growing up, Rich and I were the two liberal democrats and feminists in a Republican household. With much talk we eventually persuaded some of our siblings to join us but never made any headway with Dad. But what I loved most about my brother was his willingness to laugh uncontrollably at my silliness even when it meant being banished from the dinner table. Thank you Rich for the light and lightness you brought into our lives... we will miss you. love Janice
