Richard A. Ziemnik, age 74. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Linda Ziemnik (nee Schwet). Dear father of Matthew Ziemnik (Sara), Daniel Ziemnik (Dawn) and Kimberly Hoyle (Jeff); grandfather of Jackson Ziemnik, Emery Ziemnik and Kylie Estep, Kayla Ziemnik and Taytum Ziemnik and Layla and Logan Hoyle; companion of Deborah Hayden. Brother of Joseph Ziemnik (Kristine), Marol Lynn Taylor (William), Christine Vilt (Ed), Michael Ziemnik (Darlene) and the late William Ziemnik. Uncle and great uncle to many.
Richard was a humble man that always thought of others first. He defined what hard work is and was committed to his family. He was most happy when others were smiling. Humor was brought into every situation and established a legacy of tradition. We will deeply miss his kindness, goofy sense of humor, and laughter.
Rich valued being present for others and never missed a sporting event for his children. So much time spent chatting it up on the sidelines while smiling at soccer games, basketball games, baseball games, and swim meets. He frequently attended dance competitions, concerts, and recitals. His social calendar was set according to the grandkids' activities.
He loved fast cars, hot tubs, the Ohio State Buckeyes, popcorn, Dairy Queen cherry dipped cones, Arby's sandwiches, giving side hugs, cruising on a boat, Motown music, and splitting a beer. Many consider him to be a "resourceful" man who refused to pay for parking, air conditioning, call waiting, a dishwasher, cable TV, or a garage door opener! Rick believed in the value of a dollar.
He was a selfless man of honor and trust. While he is no longer with us in body, he will forever be in our hearts.
