Richard Paul Zissler, aged 63, of Reese, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Born on December 15, 1961, in Caro, Michigan, he was the son of the late Raymond and Betty (Wilson) Zissler. Richard was a beloved member of the Reese community, known for his hardworking nature and generous spirit.
A proud graduate of Reese High School, Richard entered the workforce with a strong sense of determination. His career began at Marv's Tires in Gilford, where he earned a reputation as a skilled tire man. He also spent time as a bouncer in Richville. Richard's true passion, however, was farming. He dedicated over 20 years of his life to working at the Sylvester Farm, where his contributions were invaluable until his time of passing.
In his younger years, Richard's spirit led him to compete in demolition derbies throughout the area. He was also a dedicated member of the Gilford Gun Club, where he shared his love for shooting sports with fellow enthusiasts.
Richard's generosity was boundless; he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for hunting and fishing. Family BBQs were a favorite occasion for Richard. He also loved to have a beer with his friends.
A man of simple pleasures, Richard's most treasured companion was his dog, Jack. The two were inseparable, often seen riding around on the golf cart, enjoying the simple joys of companionship and the beauty of the countryside.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Kay Coffey of Caro, Robert E. Zissler of Warren, and Debbie S. DuBois of Hillman. Richard's life was also enriched by the love of his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. His brother Ray Zissler, niece Nichol, and great-niece Destiny preceded him in death.
The funeral service to honor the life of Richard Zissler will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, located at 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese. Richard will be laid to rest at the Gilford Township Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather on the same day, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, at the funeral home to share memories and celebrate Richard's life.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider his family, please make checks payable to his sister Kay Coffey
