Rick Dowling Obituary
Born on August 17, 1956, in Muncie, he was the beloved son of the late Bob and Wanda Dowling.
Rick lived his life to take care of his three girls and then his grandkids. As described by his grandkids, Papaw Rick was caring, genuine, loyal, and willful.
After graduating from Wes-Del High School, Rick worked at Marathon Oil Company driving a transport tanker for more than 30 years. After retiring at fifty-five, Rick found joy in golfing, taking trips to Florida, and watching his grandkids play sports. He especially treasured time spent with his family creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandi Dowling; daughters, Daisha (Corey) Hummel and Erin (Chad) Jackson; grandchildren, Carlee (Brogan) Miller, Maggie (Luke) Matthews, Raegan Jackson, Kaid Jackson, Dawson Hummel, Amelia Hummel, and Peyton Hummel; great-grandson, his special buddy, Benson Miller; sister, Debbie (Joe) New; and brothers, Doug (Kelly) Dowling and Steve (Donna) Dowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Dick and Susie Norrick; and his grandparents, Ray and Martha Dowling and Dale and Thelma Rector.
A Memorial for family and close friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the Muncie Elks.

The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.meeksmortuary.com.
