Sue L. Taylor, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on March 13, 1949, in Muncie the daughter of Donald L. and Mildred L. (Davis) Wright. Sue attended Garfield Elementary, Storer Jr. High and graduated from Wes Del High School in 1967. She married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" C. Taylor, Jr. on July 25, 1967. He preceded her in death in 2014. Sue was also a graduate of Ball State University and worked as a Graphic Designer for Boyce Forms for 27 years. She was a Master Gardner and previously volunteered at Minnetrista. She enjoyed traveling with her immediate family and sister and brother-in-law, who survive. She was particularly fond of trips to Florida to visit family, Las Vegas, and shopping at Home Goods with her sister. A good day for her was a day spent outside in the dirt with her plants and flowers. She was a member of Union Chapel Ministries, where she was active with her Sunday School Class.
She is survived by two sons; Dr. Jeffrey T. Taylor of Walls, Mississippi, and Andy L. (Stacie) Taylor of Muncie; one daughter, Stacey L. Taylor, of rural Gaston; four grandchildren, Brady, Lexi, Hank, and Hudson; one sister and brother-in-law, Norma L. (Wright) and Ronald G. Rude of Winfield, Illinois; one nephew, Bryan G. Rude of Apopka, Florida; one niece, Tamara L. (Leonard) Schmuckal of Jump River, Wisconsin; two great nephews; one uncle, Rev. Charles Douglas Wright of Oxford, Florida; a host of cousins; and a special friend Dan Davis of Muncie.
Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents; her bonus mom Betty G. Stephens, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow at the Matthews Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, Wednesday, July 16, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Muncie Animal Shelter, 901 W. Riggin Rd., Muncie, IN 47303
