Rickey Allen Parks, 71, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. He was born on January 25, 1954, in Beaumont, Texas, to Burl Parks and Bunah Hopson Parks.
Rickey lived a life filled with love, music, and service. He graduated from Colorado City High School, was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving his country for 4 years with honor and dedication, he received US Department of Veterans Affair GI Bill, attend Lubbock Christian University, welding school. He worked as a welder for ten years with the Department of Defense, where he welded aircraft components for the Air Force. He later transferred to the Defense Depot in Memphis, Tennessee, working as a maintenance welder. Music was his lifelong passion - he was an accomplished guitarist and bass player, he toured the U.S. with the Crystal River Gospel Band, sharing his talent and joy with others. Beyond his service and music, Rickey found great joy in simple pleasures like fishing, spending time with family, and being outdoors. He will be remembered for his warm heart, laughter, and his unwavering love for his family and friends, which will live on through those who knew him and loved him.
Rickey is survived by his children, Thomas Parks and wife Carol, Michael Parks, former wife Jeree Parks, sister Beverly Brown, brother, Don Parks and wife Terri, stepbrothers, Jim, Jerry, and Johnny Goff, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Burl Parks and Bunah Hopson, stepfather Bill Goff, and his beloved son, Rickey Allen Parks, II. Brothers, Edwin, John, Bobby and Bill Parks, stepsister Jeanne Bentley. He was a loving Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and good friend whose presence will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at family cemetery in Springhill Cemetery in Ringgold, Louisiana at a later date.
