Ricky Lynn Rogers, 69, of Levelland, Texas passed from this life on September 1, 2023. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 a.m. with Elgin Conner officiating.
He was born on July 14, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas to William Everett Rogers and Patsy Dresslar Rogers.
Rick attended the Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock, Texas. After graduation, he served as a missionary in Bulgaria. Rick was a talented craftsman and excelled in all areas of residential construction and carpentry work. He also taught Building Trades at Levelland High School. He was the carpenter at South Plains College for ten years. He was a very creative and gifted artist. He created many works or art including award winning paintings. Rick was a member of 13th & K Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Levelland; son, Ricky Rogers and wife Julie of Lubbock, Texas; son, Rob Rogers and wife Melany, of Columbiana, Alabama; daughter, Amanda Baker and her husband Kerry, of Schertz, Texas; daughter, Emily Rogers, of Lone Tree, Colorado; sister, Sharla Farley, and her husband John, of Columbus, Georgia; and grandchildren, Layne Sperry, Logan Sperry, Reed Rogers, Katie Rogers, Ruby Rogers, Rush Rogers, and Rhet Rogers.
Memorial donations can be made to the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home in Portales, New Mexico.
