Ricky Lee Thacker

Ricky Lee Thacker, age 54 of Martinsville, was welcomed home into the arms of the Jesus on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, at 3:12 am. He was the only child born to Judy Lynn (Montgomery) Ford and the late David Lee Thacker. Ricky was born on Tuesday, March 31st, 1970, in Martinsville, Indiana.
Ricky was born and raised in Martinsville, where he also graduated from high school with the class of 1990. He worked several years for Ray's Trash Service, which is now Waste Management, where he had been a loyal employee for a total of thirteen years.
Ricky was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martinsville. He was proud of his faith and enjoyed reading scriptures to his family. He also enjoyed boating, listening to music, watching movies, and camping.
Ricky's unexpected death has left family and friends heartbroken including his mother, Judy L. Ford of Carrollton, Kentucky; fiancé, Sondra Thacker of Martinsville; stepchildren, Carissa and Jessica Thacker of Martinsville, and Timmy Jo Chadwick of Evansville; half-sister, Nancy Potter of Martinsville; and 3 step grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a service celebrating Ricky's life and legacy on Monday, April 29th, 2024, beginning at 1:00 pm at Neal and Summers Funeral and Cremation Center. Visiting hours will be held immediately prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville following the service.
