Ricky Banks Weeks was born on March 26, 1956, in Conroe, Texas, to Banks Weeks and Shirley. He passed away on November 14, 2025, in Stroud, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Ricky grew up with a bright spirit and a love for people, graduating from Prague High School in 1974. Shortly after, he began working for Allied, where a twist of fate—and a mutual friend, Judy Thoma—led him to the love of his life, Jo Anne Ash. The two were married on October 16, 1976, beginning a beautiful partnership that lasted 49 years.
A true renaissance man, Ricky worked in many fields throughout his life. He drove trucks, served as a police officer for Stroud, Lincoln County, and the Sac and Fox Nation, and even worked within the K9 unit—an experience he took great pride in. No matter what job he held, Ricky gave it his full heart.
Ricky was a man of deep faith, rarely going a day without reading or listening to the Bible. He enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing and could often be found watching Westerns or episodes of M.A.S.H., two of his lifelong favorites. Like his father before him, Ricky never met a stranger. His warm smile, easy laugh, and unforgettable stories made him a friend to all who crossed his path.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Jo Anne Weeks; daughter Janet Thompson and her husband, Sgt. 1st Class Don Thompson US Army Ret.; daughter Mary Shields and husband Ricky; son Technical Sgt. John Weeks USAF and his wife Ashley; his father Banks Weeks; sisters Shirley Marie Lewis and husband Mike, Amonna Doan and husband Jerry, and Twana Weeks; grandchildren Douglas, Danielle, Tristan, Charlotte, Roderick, Elijah, and Zoey Anne; and his best friend of more than 50 years, Darcy Hightower; as well as extended family and friends.
Ricky is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Shirley.
