Sharon Elaine (Ladra) Strait, 75, lifelong resident of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Prague.
Sharon was born on September 16, 1950, in Prague, to Allen Lee and Cornelia Elizabeth (Hayes) Ladra. She attended school in Prague, graduating from Prague High School in 1968. She went on to attend Central State University before beginning her professional career.
In the 1970s, Sharon worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation with the Turnpike Authority, all while helping on the family farm. Over the years, she worked as a secretary at First National Bank in Prague and at Prague Elementary School. For some time, she owned and operated The Clothes Closet, a clothing store. She later worked for Baptist Athletics and Finley & Cook in Shawnee, retiring in 2020 at the age of 70.
On June 8, 2001, Sharon married W. T. Strait. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Sharon was deeply involved in her children’s activities—supporting FFA, booster clubs, and coaching little league basketball. Family meant everything to her. She especially loved family gatherings and celebrating birthdays, always preparing each person’s favorite meal.
Sharon was known for her attention to detail and creativity. She made detailed scrapbooks documenting each year of her children’s lives. She was also an excellent cook and baker, known for her kolaches, pies, red velvet cake, and fried chicken. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and gardening.
A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Prague, Sharon served through the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox ministry, a cause close to her heart.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Cornelia Ladra, and her husbands Burlan Coomer and Gary Morelock.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, W. T. Strait of the home; her children, Cody Coomer and his wife, Kirsty, of Prague; Lacy Friend and her husband, Ryan, of Prague; and Garrett Morelock and his wife, Cari, of Piedmont, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Ladra, and his wife, Sandra, of Prague; sister-in-law Pam Pratka and her husband Steve Pratka; six grandchildren, Kenedi Morelock, Lexi Morelock, Brady Morelock, Jaylee Friend, Jaxi Friend, and Bentyn Coomer; and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her seventh grandchild, Claire Elaine Coomer, due in just a few days. Sharon will also be deeply missed by a host of extended family members and dear friends.
