Rynella - Rita Ann Floris, 67, a devoted soul with a heart of gold, passed away on March 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm, on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at St. Marcellus Catholic Church, in Rynella. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery, in Jeanerette.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Thursday, from 8:00 am until 12:45 pm.
A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
Born in 1956, to the late Walter and Therese Menard LeBlanc. Rita dedicated 43 years of her life to the McIlhenny Company, where her dedication and hard work shone brightly.
Known for her unwavering love for her family, Rita's most treasured moments revolved around her granddaughter, whom she adored beyond words. Rita's nurturing spirit and selfless nature made her the matriarch of her family, a beacon of strength and wisdom for all who knew her.
Beyond her professional endeavors and family life, Rita found joy in simple pleasures. Cooking was not just a hobby for her; it was a way to express her love and care for others. Whether she was preparing a feast for a special occasion or whipping up a comforting meal for her loved ones, Rita's culinary creations were always made with love.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Floris; son, Jared Floris (Lindsey); granddaughter, Stefany Ann Floris; sister, Cindy Kiper (Ben); nephews, Briley Landry, and Ben Terrell; great nephews, Kaison Landry, and Maverix Landry; father-in-law, Anthony Floris; and sisters-in-law, Genny Migues, Lisa Hernandez (Joel), and Pamela Landry (Lon); brother-in-law, Michael Terrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Terrell; mother-in-law, Elodia Alleman Floris; and brothers-in-law, Woody Dean Floris, and Brett Landry.
Rita's memory will be carried on by those who survive her; she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Pallbearers will be Briley Landry, Brandon Labit, Scott Schales, Ben Terrell, Ben Kiper, and Michael Terrell.
Rita Ann Floris’ spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
