Rita W. Ebersol

Penfield – Rita W. Ebersol, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, while surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years, Jack Ebersol in 2022. Rita is survived by four children, Nanette (Ron) Friedman, Pamela (Deb) Ebersol, Judith (Bradley) Overslaugh and Scott (Mary Beth) Ebersol; six grandchildren, Kathleen Ebersol, Benjamin Overslaugh (Logan Koennecke), Emily Ebersol, Carolyn Overslaugh, Andrew Ebersol and Sebastian Friedman; three siblings, Betty Nortz, Robert (Janice) Widrick and Virgil Widrick; sister-in-law, Betty Widrick; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents, John and Luella (Steiner) Widrick; stepmother, Berdina Widrick; and three siblings, Boyce Widrick, Evelyn Farney and Gilbert Widrick.
Rita was born and raised in Croghan, NY. She began her career in the banking industry and later worked at the First Baptist Church of Penfield and the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Rita led a full and busy life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends at their home on Canandaigua Lake. Rita was devoted to her faith and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Penfield and the United Church of Canandaigua. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Rita will be remembered for her warm and kind demeanor.

Friends may call Friday, April 4, from 4-6pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, April 5, at 11am, at Croghan-Naumburg Apostolic Christian Church, 9029 Rte. 812, Lowville, NY 13327. Interment will be in Croghan Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
