Rita Corrine (Shipley) Fox, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, August 14, 2025 at Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville.

Rita was born January 11, 1946 in Brown County to her parents, the late Riley Oliver and Sarah Cathryn (Leggins) Shipley.

Rita worked as a caregiver for children and adults with developmental disabilities and also worked for the Indiana Children's Home. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, spending time in the outdoors and growing flowers. She had a strong love for animals, especially her dogs and cats. Most of all, she loved her family.

Rita is survived by her four children, several grandchildren and siblings, Lana Carter, Riley Shipley II, Stephen Shipley and Randy Shipley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild and siblings, James, Richard and Kevin Shipley, Sarah Catherine and Laura Candace Daniels.

Rita was laid to rest next to her family at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
