Rita Hasenohrl, age 99 passed away on May 14, 2024, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in De Pere, WI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield, WI, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 9:30 am until service time. Rev. Daniel Thelen will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Rita was born on February 13, 1925, to William and Catherine (Wirtz) Brockman in the town of Hansen, Wood County, the 14th child in a family of sixteen.
She had a profound love for children, serving as a foster mother to eleven infants for over five years while her own children were in school.
Rita married Othmar Hasenohrl on June 21, 1947, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Altdorf, Wisconsin. The couple initially lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, for the first eight years of their marriage before moving to Marshfield in 1957. In retirement, they moved to Stevens Point in 2010, and later Rita relocated to Green Bay in 2015. She was an active volunteer. Her and her husband Othmar delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and worked at St Vincent de Paul.
She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, square dancing, bowling, knitting, and reading.
She is survived by one sister Joan Schmidt in Park Falls WI, two sons Stephen (Judy) Hasenohrl Rapid City SD, David (Nancy) Hasenohrl Oshkosh WI, two daughters Teresa Hasenohrl Green Bay and Debbie (George) Wiciak Richfield WI, Ten Grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband Othmar, her parents, William and Catherine Brockman, one daughter Mary who died in 2012, one grandson Joseph Hasenohrl, eight brothers, six sisters, Raymond Peter Brockman, Laurence Nicholas Brockman, Clara Gertrude Omholt, Wilbert Francis Brockman, Leonard Peter Brockman, Benjamin Christian Brockman, Louise Johanna Kissinger, Roseila "Rose" Marie Krause, Theodora "Dora" Brockman, Gerald George Brockman, Constance "Connie" Josephine Iverson, Ernest James "Buddy" Quinten Brockman, Joan Rachel Schmidt, and Marcella Alice Diedrick.
Rita's life was a testament to her enduring love and commitment to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab Center and Unity Hospice for their care and support.
In lieu of floral expressions, memorials in her name may be made to Unity Hospice in De Pere, WI.
