I knew Rita as Dr. Mathias' sidekick for many years. At every appointment we shared a laugh. She was always willing to help solve a problem whenever I called. Rita, you will be sorely missed by me and countless others.

We met Rita through Griffin Faculty Health Physicians in Shelton many years ago. When I visited the office with my mom, she was kind, compassionate and always helpful. My mom was not at all comfortable with those semi-annual visits to the doctor's office, but Rita had that special way about her that always put my mom at ease. She would say things like, "look at you - you look great - you're doing great!!!" I would reach out to Rita whenever there was a question or problem that needed answering - she would check with the doctor and would get back very quickly with a response. I knew she had taken good care of her mom and dad before they passed so I felt a connection with her and knew that my mom was in good hands when Rita was on the case. Around holiday time, Rita often spoke with us about her family, her plans with them and was excited to share meal menus especially those involving lots of good Italian food.
We extend our deepest condolences to the entire family. Always keep your many very fond memories of Rita close to your heart. She was special. Rest in peace dear Rita.

Oh Rita~you had been on my mind since my mom told me you were out sick . I must admit I even called trying to see if you were back. My visits will never be the same. You genuinely cared how me and my family were doing and always remembered ever bit of my personal
Life, after all you had been part of my life for the last 30 years. ~If I only knew at my last appointment it was the last time I would ever see you, I would have thanked you and gave you a big hug. I will miss you so much . Rest easy Rita I hope your realized just how many lives you touched.
Love - Sheri Ganter Jaser

I am so sorry to hear this sad news! I met Rita through Gloria she was very funny and kind. But as I got older I would see her at the Drs office. We always would catch up on life. She lived life to the fullest, I hope all the cherished memories you have will make you smile.
