Robbie Guy Ingle

Robbie Guy Ingle died peacefully on May 6, 2024 at the age of 60. He was born in Alamance County to Sarah and John Ingle and graduated from Eastern Alamance High School. After graduating from UNC-Greensboro in 1988, he traveled throughout Europe before beginning his career as a comptroller for Crown Automotive, which became part of Asbury Automotive. He retired early at age 50.

Rob loved animals as much as anyone, especially his cocker spaniels. He raised a deer he named Zoe and was so proud of his grand-deer, Chloe and Chucky. There were also many fish, goats, chickens, and a few donkeys on the Hurdle Mills "farmette" that he shared with his husband, Scott.

When the time came that Rob's mother could no longer live independently, she also came to the farm where Rob lovingly cared for her for five years. Those were difficult, taxing years but he faithfully provided around-the-clock care for as long as he could safely do so. She died just shy of her 99th birthday.

Rob was pre-deceased by his mother, Sarah; his sister, Jane, and later her husband, Paul Smith, his brother-in-law, Ed Ward, his beloved pups, Alex, Ande, MooMoo, Maggie, Bud, and Maddox. He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Scott Pollard, his sisters, Kathy Ward and

Ann Ingle, brother, Tim Ingle, nephews, Stephen Ingle, Andrew Ward (Katie), Matthew Smith (Catherine), and Zachary Ward, niece, Elizabeth Klutts (Gary); and nine grand-nieces/nephews.

Rob also loved his in-laws Ray and Gayle Pollard, sister-in-law Kathy Blaine (Ken), and his dearest friend from childhood Phil Lee (Tom Cozart). And, of course, his canine children Bailey and Ellie.

Rob was a kind, loyal man who touched many lives. The outpouring of love while he endured a long final hospitalization, from former colleagues, friends, and neighbors – new and old, was a testament to how much he meant to others. He will be missed.

The natural burial at Bluestem Conservation Cemetery will be private. A public celebration of his life will be held on 5/11/24 at Bluestem at 12:00, 1900 Hurdle Mills Rd, Cedar Grove, NC. The services will be outdoors so dress comfortably and seasonably.
