Patricia Ann Andrews, 78, of Burlington, NC, passed away on July, 6, 2025.
Born on November 15, 1946 in Burlington, NC, Pat was the beloved child of Logan and Ida Crutchfield. She graduated from Eastern Alamance High School, and later earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice from N.C. Central University in Durham, where she remained on the Dean's List. She went on to become a small business owner in the local community.
Pat was known for her independent spirit and strong will - living life entirely on her own terms. She found true peace in the sound of ocean waves and the feel of sand beneath her feet. Whether collecting seashells at sunrise or watching the tides roll in, the beach was truly Pat's happy place.
Pat also had a lifelong passion for reading and a unique gift for storytelling. Her sharp wit, stubbornness, and heartfelt reflections came to life in the pages of her journals, where she captured the joys, heartaches, and hilarious absurdities of motherhood and family life with warmth, honesty, and a double dose of humor. Her writing was a blend of insight and irreverence-often laugh-out-loud funny, sometimes deeply moving, and always unmistakably "Pat." Her many journals will be cherished for generations as a window into her one-of-a-kind spirit and the unapologetic way she lived her life.
She is survived by her children, Michael Andrews (Diane) of Plano, TX, and Christopher Andrews (Whitney) of Waxhaw, NC. Grandchildren, Nicholas, Nyla, and Austin Andrews (Michael's); Logan, Gage, Addison and Langley Andrews (Christopher's); her sister, Tracy Crutchfield (Rick) of Burlington, NC - who played an important and loving role in her life, and who Pat referred to as "her rock" because of her constant and loving dedication, as well as the deep bond the two shared as lifelong confidants; brother, Charles Crutchfield of NYC; nieces, April Robertson, Ashley Roberts, Tammy Wilson, Kathy Nelson, Glenda Garrow, and Micki Madden; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her former husband, and father to her children, Luther Williams Andrews, Jr. of Burlington, NC; her parents, Logan and Ida Crutchfield of Burlington, NC; her brother, Mickey Crutchfield of Haw River, NC; and her lifelong best friend, Ken Wilson of Burlington, NC.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
