Robert Paul Austin
Age 80, of Elwell, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Masonic Pathways in Alma.
Bob was born February 7, 1945, in Alma, the son of Herbert and Edna (Strine) Austin. He graduated from Vestaburg High School with the class of 1963. Bob then attended Ferris State University and earned his associate's degree in marketing. Bob married Carol Jeanne Pedersen on September 7, 1968, in Big Rapids. He worked for Total Petroleum before retiring. Bob was an active member of the Vestaburg Church of Christ. He enjoyed writing letters, helping others and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Bobbi (Joe) Moore, Billie (Ryan) Hetherington, grandchildren Gabriel, Ethan, Brooke, brother Roger (Nancy) Austin and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mrytle, Iver, Don, Dale and John.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 1 pm at the Vestaburg Church of Christ. Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 am until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to wishes of the family, c/o Carol Austin.
