We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Robert Lee Baer, 82, on June 30, 2025. He passed peacefully at his home in Lewistown surrounded by his loving family and faithful companion Buttercup. Born October 23rd, 1942, in Kistler, PA, he was the son of the late Merle "Bob" Baer and Olive Ruth Zimmerman Baer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Alan Hobbs and Donald Hobbs. He is survived by his loving soulmate Dawn Wray; his children Wendy (Baer) Noerr and husband Timothy, Amy Baer Remy and husband Mark; grandchildren Ashley (Noerr) Weaver and husband Mike, Andrew Noerr and wife Cheyenne, Maxwell Remy, Thomas Remy; great-grandchildren Mia, Addi May, Brody, Isabella, and Leon; Dawn's daughters Lee Ann Wray McCombie and husband Clip and son Andrew Fultz and Lynnette Wray Belej and husband David and daughters Syndey and Amanda. In addition, he is survived by brother Kenneth Baer and wife Shirley of Xenia, OH and sister Janet "Marlene" Runk of McVeytown, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob was a Captain Jack High School class of 1960 graduate, as well as a Pennsylvania State University graduate. He served on the Penn State Campus Police Force as well as the Derry Township Police Force. He was the consummate entrepreneur, owning and operating many properties and businesses over the years-most notably Baer Feet Shoes, Little Caeser's Pizza, and Marlin Fields Real Estate. He was also a member of the Masonic Brotherhood. During his lifetime he enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing tennis and racquetball, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals. Bob was an avid Penn State football and wrestling fan. Most recently, he enjoyed taking Buttercup to the dog park to play with her best friend Oscar, "squirrel hunting" in their own unique way and just cuddling on the couch. He will be remembered for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, and mischievous spirit. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched with his generosity, love, and laughter. A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Geisinger Hospice Promise Foundation, 106 Derry Heights Blvd. Suite 302 Lewistown, PA 17044, or to the Kish Park Dog Park. Checks can be made payable to "Derry Township" and mailed to: 73 Reserve Lane, Lewistown, PA 17044. Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
