Robert M. Battista went home to the Lord on Sunday, October 12th. Bob was a dad, brother, uncle, and cousin to many wonderful people.
Bob was a car enthusiast and he spent 50+ years as a body and frame expert. Working the majority of that time at General Body and Towing in Canton, Ohio. He played and love sports. He is a team member in the Canton Amateur Hall of Fame for fumbleball. Bob was a six year Army veteran serving with the "Spearheads".
He was very proud of his Italian heritage and loved making wine every fall with his dear brother-in-law, Paul Torcasio.
He was proceeded in death by his one and only love Joanne Battista (nee Magyar). He was also preceded in death by his parents Henry and Rose (Baptiste) Battista, brothers Ben Battista, Joe Battista, Bennie Battista, sisters Esther Hendrix, Adeline DiBattista and Stella Torcasio. He left a legacy of children: Nicholas (Patricia) Battista son, Denise (Tom) Briggs (Battista) daughter, Danielle (Michael) Silvey (Battista). His grandchildren: Kelsey R. Klawsky (Briggs), Alexis J. Briggs, Dominic J. Battista, Olivia N. Battista, Robert M. Silvey, and Isabella M. Silvey.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 22nd from 10 to 11 am at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with services to follow at 11:00 am.
