Robert Blahut Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Powell Funeral Directors - Hinsdale on Jan. 19, 2025.
Robert "Bob" John Blahut, age 64, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at his home in Morris, Illinois. Robert was born on May 5, 1960, in Oak Park, IL, welcomed by his loving mother Billie (nee Fowler), father Joseph Blahut, and older brother Joseph. While growing up in Brookfield, IL, the family happily expanded with the addition of his step-father Gerald Frintner, step-siblings Debbie, Mike, and Patty, and the arrival of his youngest sister, Lisa. Robert graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1978 and subsequently owned and ran his successful painting business, All Pro Painters, for over 30 years. Robert was an extremely hard worker and a tireless provider for his family. Robert married Lori (nee Leslie) and lived in Berkeley, IL, where he wholeheartedly and lovingly embraced taking on the role of father to Lori's daughters Daniele and Erin. The happy family grew with the amazing additions of Robert's son, Robert Joseph, in 1995 and daughter, Lucy Ann, in 1997, later relocating to Yorkville, IL.
Robert's deep laugh, quick wit, and infectious personality made him beloved by many. Bob was an avid fisherman, spending many happy days with his family on the lakes of Dowagiac, Michigan. He was also a huge fan of the Chicago Bears, and you could always find him excited for a game on Sundays. Bob loved cooking for his family and sharing a beer with friends. Whether it was some amazing Bohemian food or grilling some steaks, you could often find him whipping up epic meals in the kitchen. Bob especially loved being with his children and grandchildren, coaching Little League games, hosting pumpkin carvings and barbecues, and dropping off food and gifts for them. Bob was always there to lend a helping hand when someone needed him. His deep personal caring for his loved ones and his entire presence in all of our lives will be deeply missed.
Remaining to cherish Robert's memory are his parents, Billie and Jerry Frintner; his children, Daniele (Jeffrey) Wean, Erin (Charles) Syperski, Robert (Shannon) Blahut, and Lucy (Nick) Dallen; his grandchildren, Liliana and Vivian Wean, Henry and Audrey Syperski, Sadie Blahut, and Oliver Dallen; his siblings Joseph Blahut, Debbie Habian, Mike (Ann) Frintner, Patty (Randy) DeWitt, and Lisa (Steve) Landin; as well as his large extended family and friends. Robert will also be eternally cherished by his long-time loves: his former wife Lori Blahut and devoted sweetheart Virginia Fournier. Robert is preceded in death by his father, Joseph E. Blahut; grandmother, Velma Rodacker McCann; and grandparents, Joseph and Anne Blahut.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the springtime. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's name to the Cancer Research Institute at cancerresearch.org

I met Bob when he and his family moved to Yorkville next door to my mom Thelma Wilson. He was always watching over my mom and lending her a hand. Whenever near he had a smile and a wave for us. Years later after my mom passed he ended up renting and living in her house. He took great care of her house and her yard. We became friends over the 20 plus years that I knew him. He was my "go to guy" for painting anything else I needed help with. He even helped put up my christmas roof lights. He'd never say no to a friend in need. Bob was a kind and caring man. Bob will be missed by many for many reasons. I was blessed to know Bob and I will miss him dearly.

My brother Bob was always there when I needed him, and we grew up together sharing almost everything together. Particularly many really great get-togethers in our younger years with family and socially.

As kids, we played baseball in the same league and we attended the same schools. Bob was a home run hitter in many different ways. We even dated some of the same girls growing up. There are 100+ memories of my brother Bob that I will always appreciate! Camping trips with our dad and family backyard cookouts and many other things.

He will always have a place in my heart and memories. I loved him dearly.

Ginny, so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was so fortunate to have you in his life the last 10 years as you were to have him. Your love for him and his for you was obvious to anyone who paid attention. He had you to care for him during his final days. He knew he was loved, he knew you cared, and most importantly, you allowed him to pass with dignity and peace. Your efforts were the greatest expression of love - I know Bob knew it too. Thank you Ginny - know that Bob will be missed.
