Robert "Bob" R. Blount age 87 of Durand, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2-6 PM and one hour prior to the service.
Robert Ray Blount was born on April 1, 1938 in Durand, MI a son of Wilbur and Mildred (Ritter) Blount. On March 21, 1987 he married Merlus Butcher. Bob enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, golfing, hunting, traveling around Michigan, joining friends at the Durand Eagles and the V.F.W. Prior to his retirement, he was a tool and die maker for over 40 years. After retirement, Bob was a camp keeper at Camp Shiawassee for 10 years.
Bob is survived by his children, Jim (Colleen O'Connor) Blount, Barb (Tracy) Foster, Bobbi Friday and Joel (Kim) Blount; grandchildren, Andrew, Hillary, Kyle, Erik, Kelley, Anastasia and Joshua; several great grandchildren; stepchildren, Mark Fisher, Fred Butcher, Barb Butcher and Dan Butcher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Merlus Blount; siblings, Elaine, Helen, Erma, Doris, Mary Lou and Frank.
