Robert “Bob” John Golas, 81, of Easley, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 4, 2023, with his family by his side.
Bob or Bobby as he was affectionally called, lived a full and successful life. Born in Dayville, Connecticut, to Stanley and Bertha Golas. Bob graduated with honors from Killingly High School, The University of Connecticut, and received his Master's from Butler University. He joined the Army as an officer and obtained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Bob was a highly dedicated soldier having received both a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, among many others. Following his retirement from the Army, Bob went on to have a successful career in business.
Bob is survived by his wife, Priscilla O. Golas, and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Golas and wife Ursula.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road followed by a service at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
