ROBERT NELSON GRIEVE

Robert N. Grieve, 85, of Kingston, died peacefully Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in United Hospice Service of Marlette. He was born January 23, 1940 in Detroit to Milton and Bernice (Carter) Grieve. He married Janet Mae Seddon on April 19, 1963 in Kingston United Methodist Church.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors while gardening and tending to his yard. He was passionate about playing golf. Together, he and Janet played golf in all of the Western States and most of the Eastern States as well. In 2013, they spent their fiftieth wedding anniversary in Hawaii where they welcomed their great granddaughter, Ryleigh Brooke Grieve. In the winter, Bob replaced golfing with bowling. He was an active Kingston Lions Club member and served the Lions Club in various roles over the years. Bob’s “club project” was recycling cans and bottles for the club. He was a “regular” at the coffee shop where many stories were shared. Bob was a man of integrity and honesty and you always knew where you stood with him.

Bob is survived by his wife, Janet; their sons: Robert Grieve, Russell Grieve; his special step-granddaughter, Lea (Jarred) Moore, and April (Sam) Maxwell, Elizabeth Billingsley; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Rory Grieve; sisters: Betty Awad, Doris Ostrander.

A memorial luncheon will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2025 in Kingston Community Church with Rev. Matthew Osbourne leading the prayers. Memorials may be made to United Hospice Service of Marlette.
