I was certainly not the best student in the biochem class, but Bo was a great teacher. I took his class in the 1980's, and have his textbook on my shelf in my office still. I am a scientist, and have benefitted greatly from what I learned from him. I hope that happy memories will comfort his family.

I was a freshman Chemistry major at John Carroll in 1969 and was so lucky to have Bo as my first college Chemistry professor. As my first mentor and role model, he provided the wisdom and guidance that would serve as the foundation of my 45 year career in industrial chemistry. I will never forget his support and kindness that was so important to me in those early days at university. Thank you for all you did to help me and so many other students like me find their way. Jim Burrington, BS Chemistry, JCU 1973; Ph.D., MIT, 1977.

As a vice president at John Carroll, I knew Bo as a colleague and friend for many years. He was revered as a biochemistry prof and an all-around good guy. We enjoyed softball together on a Faculty team which played various student groups. Boy, could Bo clout a softball! Condolences to his family and his many friends.
