Robert Lee Buster, aged 72, of Cusseta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. Born on November 25, 1952, in Elden, Missouri, to parents Bobbie Buster and Charlotte Younger, Robert grew up with a foundation of love and strong family values.
Robert's life was one of service and dedication. He proudly served in the United States Army for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His military career was marked by honor, commitment, and the respect of his peers and superiors alike. Following his retirement from active duty, Robert continued to be an active member of his community and a mentor to many.
In the warmth of the Buster family home, Robert's presence was a constant source of wisdom and love. He married his beloved wife, Linda Buster, and together they raised a family of five children: Zachary, Sherman, Kathy, Lisa Ann, and Brenda Sue. Robert's role as a husband and father was one he cherished deeply, and his guidance and affection will be greatly missed by his family.
Robert's mother, Charlotte and siblings, Mollianne Massey, Terry Buster, and Linda Eckart, will fondly remember him for his unwavering support and the cherished moments they shared. His passing leaves a void in the family that will be felt profoundly.
Throughout his life, Robert cultivated a variety of interests that reflected his diverse talents and inquisitive mind. He was an accomplished golfer, a creator of intricate needlepoint pieces, and an artist whose painting stills captured the beauty of the world around him. His hands were rarely idle, as he enjoyed assembling complex Lego puzzles that showcased his patience and attention to detail.
A man of simple pleasures, Robert found joy in sitting on the porch with his wife, sharing stories and enjoying the tranquility of their home. His wise and loving nature was a beacon for those who knew him, and his legacy of kindness will be carried on by those who had the privilege of his company.
A visitation for Robert will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service to honor his life and legacy will take place at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery on Thursday, May 15, at 12:30 PM.
As we bid farewell to Robert Lee Buster, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life filled with love, service, and the pursuit of happiness. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
