David "Shon" Sutton, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Seale, Alabama, at the age of 57. Born on March 1, 1968, in Fort Benning, Georgia, Shon was the beloved son of Floyd Sutton Sr., who preceded him in death, and Lavern Poss Sutton.
Shon married Tammy Sutton, and together they built a life filled with love. He leaves behind his step children Mathew Shiver and Cortney Shiver, who, along with their spouses Felicia and Brandon, will miss him dearly.
The joy of family life for Shon was magnified by the arrival of his grandchildren, Keleigh Shiver and Neveah Howard. He delighted in every moment spent with them, eagerly sharing his love for the great outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. Shon's mother, Laverne, along with his siblings Floyd Sutton Jr., Randy Sutton, and Donna Alexander, will fondly remember.
Shon was a man of many interests, all of which reflected his love for the world around him. He was an active member of the Silver Run Baptist community, where he found solace and fellowship. His passion for fishing was not just a hobby but a way to connect with nature.
Shon's love for television, especially nature, action, and sci-fi genres, was a source of relaxation and entertainment, allowing him to explore new worlds from the comfort of his home.
Travel was another of Shon's pleasures. He relished the opportunity to experience new places and cultures, always returning with stories and memories to share.
As we bid farewell to David "Shon" Sutton, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be cherished forever.
