Cumberland, MD-Robert Daryl "Bob" Cain, 74, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at his son's home on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Born May 10, 1948, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late John and Thelma Cain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Schrock) Cain, his brother Jack Cain, and his sisters, Anna Lee Lombardi and Vanessa Herring.
Bob worked at WMHS/Memorial Hospital for 20 years. He also worked at Kelly Springfield for a number of years. Bob was a diehard Mopar man. He loved drag racing in his younger years and going to NHRA events. Bob was an avid rider of his Indian motorcycle. Some of the best times of his life were spent on two wheels especially going to Acadia National Park in Maine, Blue Ridge Parkway in Tennessee, Skyline Drive in Virginia, San Francisco California, and Sequoia National Park in California. Bob was a lifelong Fort Hill fan. He also loved going to Frankfort football games to watch his grandson, Stone, perform in the drumline of the Frankfort marching band.
Surviving is his son, Kevin Cain and wife, Greta; daughter, Jenny Lennon and husband, Sean; sister, Bonna Truitt; special grandchildren, Stone Cain, Brady Lennon, and Violet Lennon. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
Bob made many special lifelong friendships. He could be found most mornings at Hobo's Restaurant where they treated him like family and was spoiled with special "treats" by Jodi Emerick and family.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Kenneth Craddock officiating.
Interment will be in Greenville Cemetery.
