Robert Callahan Obituary

Robert was an Industrial Arts teacher with the Hoboken School District for more than 35 years before his retirement. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the Men's Club and volunteered at South Knolls in Jackson Twp., and was an avid New York Giants and the New York Yankees fan.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, William Callahan and Catherine Barbera, and his sister, Carole Ann Mottola. He is survived by many loving family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his Funeral Liturgy on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 10AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. Please gather at the church at 9:45AM. A memorial visitation will follow from 11:30AM-1:30PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 BENNETTS MILLS RD., JACKSON TWP., NJ 08527. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942, and would be greatly appreciated. Bob and my Mom, Betsey Langley, were both colleagues and friends at HHS. Our family continued that friendship with Bob after Mom´s passing. He was such a great guy! We were lucky to have hime in our lives for so many years. RIP, Bob

Class Of 89!! I Remember Being A Wood Shop Student Of His In 86.. He Helped Me Make A Plack For My Church Choir Leader. He Also Asked Me To Name My 1st Baby Girl After His Favorite Singer SADE Which I Did.. He Was A All Around Great Teacher/Guy, & I Know He Will Be Greatly Missed.. God Bless His Soul

Met Bob on the doc where we kept our boats. Captains meetings on Friday nights were always special especially when libations were flowing. Bob had a great sense of humor and a caring individual. We're sorry to see him go but glad our path's crossed for a period of time.
