Robert Wayne Clark, our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2024. Bob was born to Rose and Robert Harris Clark on October 4, 1954. His family and friends affectionately called him "Bob" or "Bobby Wayne" when he was a bit younger. Bob was a friend and conversationalist, most often as the curious and intent listener who made others feel heard and valued.
Bob's greatest joy was his family, especially his wife, Doreen, who was the love of his life. Bob and Doreen were high school sweethearts having met after a football game at Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming.
Throughout their marriage, they were spontaneous and fun-loving. Next time you go to New York City, you might see their handprints that they left in fresh concrete during a trip years ago.
Bob and Doreen had two sons, Dustin and Grant, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Throughout his life, Bob played basketball, tennis, and football with his boys and later with his grandchildren on the front lawn. He also loved sharing his fleet of drones with his grandkids.
Whether it was a late-night ride in his circa-1969 GTO Judge when Bob was younger or riding his motorcycles in the Utah summers, Bob loved the wind in his hair and a responsive throttle. His need for speed coupled nicely with his love of music. Bob was a music fanatic. He listened to various genres with some of his favorite artists being Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, Joe Satriani, Van Halen, and Aerosmith to name only a few. (We won't fault Bob for that somewhat brief fondness of Nickelback.) He loved studying the best quality speakers and headphones to get the best sound. Bob not only loved listening to music, he also played drums for the Casper Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps in his youth and was even an amateur music video director and producer for a time in college. Perhaps it was his past experiences with music that allowed him to make a one-time appearance in the TikTok world, dancing alongside his granddaughters despite having absolutely no choreography training.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting expeditions, fishing (by boat, from the shore, and on the ice), and riding motorcycles. His early years included hunting trips with his Dad and other family members. He developed a bond with his Dad during these trips and through other countless interactions. When Bob was only fourteen years of age, his Dad passed away. Bob was heartbroken-the kind of heartbreak that a person never "gets over." The kind of heartbreak that we feel now.
Some of the greatest memories we have of Bob are of him playing basketball with his sons as soon as he got off work, coaching his son's baseball team, flying drones with grandkids, boating, hiking, and shopping. There were so many other activities that he enjoyed and that we enjoyed doing with him. He was just fun to be with.
Some of Bob's various career accomplishments include graduating from the University of Wyoming and a thirty-plus year career with State Farm Insurance as an employee and later as an agent.
Bob is survived by his wife Doreen, his two sons, Dustin (Anna) and Grant (Gabby), and grandchildren Bryn, Cody, Jake, Aden, Ella, Frankie (Elizabeth), Drew, Cheyenne, and Remington "Bobby Wayne," one great-grandchild Frank Jr., sisters Nancy Gerlock and Laurie Clark, and brother Jim Clark. Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, his step-father, mother-in-law Shirley Self, and his sister Bonnie.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel located 1051 East 200 South, Lindon, Utah 84042. Family and friends may attend a visitation prior to the service at the church from 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.
Following the funeral services at the chapel, interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery, 600 North 200 East, Lindon, Utah 84042. Services are under the direction of the Olpin Family Mortuary.
Condolences may be sent to the family at olpinmortuary.com.

We were devastated to hear of Bob´s passing. He was our State Farm insurance agent for almost 30 years. He and his wife, Doreen, and his son, Grant, are the kindest and most caring people - always remembering our names and taking care of our insurance needs. We will miss them all immensely now that the office is closed. Our hearts go out to Doreen, Grant and the rest of Bob´s family.

I am very sad to hear of his passing! He was my state-farm agent for admittedly a short couple years, but he came highly recommended from my siblings who knew him as their amazing agent for years before that. I loved the few interactions I had with him and his great attitude and personality! Though I did not know him long he will be missed very much.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He has been my insurance agent for many many years. He was always so kind and made you feel like you were the only concern he had when he was meeting with you. His wife, Doreen and son, Grant, have the same qualities. Sending condolences to his family.

Such a pleasure to work with Bob and his family, fellow Wyoming natives. He was so welcoming with such a kind, genuine smile.

So many wonderful memories of when we were growing up. All us cousins spent a lot of time together fishing, skiing, playing games, eating holiday dinners together, sleding while being pulled around on an old car hood, and just hanging out playing. The memory that sticks in my mind is when we went to Casper to visit and our parents decided they wanted to go up Casper mountain only problem was we didn't have enough room for everyone to get up there. Our folks had a plan, they put all us kids in the trunk of a big old car and up the mountain we went. We had a blast, sure wouldn't do anything like that now days. I also remember watching Bobby practice at the park when he was a Casper Trooper! Boy was he good!! They traveled all over to perform. So many wonderful memories. Hugs and prayers for you Doreen, your boys and the rest of the family. Love you, Carolyn

My uncle Bob always had a big contagious smile! You could always count on that. When I was growing up we often visited salt lake with my mother Nancy (Bobs sister) on a particular trip he treated his sister and her kids to a day at Boondocks! Being from Wyoming us little Casper folks had never experienced anything quite like it nor would we have without uncle Bobs fun loving spirit that insisted we went! I´ll always remember racing in the go carts and bumper boats and feeling so loved!

My favorite childhood memories are of traveling to Casper to visit Uncle Bob (Bob´s father), Aunt Rose and my cousins, Bob being closest to my age. I will never forget enjoying his father´s delicious Chili on the back patio. My favorite memory, though, is of making start and stop videos where us kids all climbed into a box and then came back out as if we all fit in a box much too small for even two of us. Such fun times! "Bobby Wayne", as we knew him then, was loved by me and my brother, Grant (after whom his son is named). My only vacations as a kid were with Bob´s family (Denver, Yellowstone, Casper). I have always hoped we could reconnect as adults but time got away from us. Love, however, lasts forever. I will always miss you, Bobby Wayne!
