Robert James Clegg

Robert James Clegg, 89 of Searcy, Arkansas moved into Heaven on March 8, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 14, 1935, to the late John Thomas and Elsie (Zelenski) Clegg.
Mr. Clegg was proud to serve in the United States Air Force and the Army Reserves. For 35 years he served as Director of Finance for Worker Benefit Plans for the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Throughout his life he was very dedicated to the church and involved in many activities. The Boy Scouts of America was a big part of his life which he was very involved in. He loved his family and life.
His loving wife of 67 years, Geraldine (Dau) Clegg, will forever miss him. Others left to cherish his memories are his children, Mark Clegg (Valerie), Jean Waldrop, and Thomas Clegg; his grandchildren, Stephen Clegg, Sherry Clegg, Benjamin Waldrop (Becky), Travis Waldrop; great- grandchildren, Matthew, Abigail, and Jacob Waldrop and Laura McKeon
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 14 at 2:00pm, at Powell Funeral Home of Searcy, with Pastor Jeffrey King officiating. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the new Crain Memorial Library of Searcy or to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church of Searcy.
