Pete served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He worked as the Plant Manager at a local chemical company for over 40 years. He was a member of the Grand Rapids American Legion.
Pete was an avid golfer and loved spending every summer for the last 30 years camping at Sunny's Campground in Wauseon. He was always quick to crack a joke and could fix anything thrown his way. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Pete loved people and had many friends. He was always kind, willing to help and was considered a 2nd dad to many.
Along with his wife of nearly 36 years, Shelly, Pete is survived by his children Brannon (Kimberly) Criner of Columbus, Ohio, Michael (Laura) Criner of Lebanon, Indiana, Craig (Jaclyn) Myers of Grand Rapids, Ohio and Samantha (Cody) Walls of Malinta, Ohio, grandchildren Logan, Olivia, Emori, Joclyn, Corbin, Maisey, Cooper and one on-the-way, 1 great-grandchild Eden and one on-the-way as well as his siblings Sherri Griffith (Mike), Cindy Lanham, Gary "Biff" Criner (Kathy), Mike Criner (Deb), Jon Criner (Julie) and Jerry Criner (Cassandra).
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Greg Criner.
Visitation will be held on Monday April 14, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, Ohio 43566. His funeral service will be Tuesday April 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Ohio where full Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Navy and the Grand Rapids American Legion.
