Robert Louis Cunningham, born February 13, 1950, in Washington, D.C. to the late Robert and Nellie Cunningham.

Robert affectionately know as "Brother" attended DC Public Schools, graduating from Chamberlian High school in 1968.

After graduating high school Robert attended University of the District of Columbia for a short period before starting his career with Geico Insurance Company as an Insurance Claims Adjuster, where he worked until he retired to start his own business, Cunningham Landscaping.

While in college Robert met the love of his life Katherine (Teresa), they married on October 29, 1976, and together they built a loving, caring and nurturing family.

Before retiring from Geico, Robert planned and built the family home on Cleary Lane, where he took pride in manicuring the yard and cutting the grass weekly.

Robert was a quiet man, he enjoyed conversating with his grandchildren and anybody else who would sit and listen. He enjoyed family gathering and his Jones and Williams family reunions, he loved reading the newspaper and would corner you into a conversation on politics and what's going on in the world.

Robert's memories will be cherished by his wife Katherine (Teresa) Cunningham; his stepchildren, Broderick (Deborah), Ashby, and Teresa (Susie) Smart; his niece Monica; nephews Johnell, and Calvin; great-nephews Anthony and Micheal Cunningham; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sister Constance Cunningham, and stepson Darryl Smart.
