Robert Louis Cutler

Robert Louis Cutler of Henderson, Colorado passed away peacefully on February 28, 2022, at the age of 89. Robert was born at home in Brighton, Colorado to Louis Glenn Cutler and Edith Irene (Wuergler) Cutler on August 21, 1932. Robert was the oldest of five children. His siblings are Evelyn, Joyce, Raymond, and Brenda. Robert was raised in Brighton and participated in Boy Scouts, choir with both the Methodist church and school, and spent a lot of his time outdoors.
Robert graduated from Brighton High School in 1951 and later attended Colorado A & M (CSU) for a short time before he joined the US Army in 1952. While in the Army, he attended engineering training in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and later was deployed to Korea.
After returning home and being honorably discharged from the Army he met and later married the love of his life, LaWayne Carol Riedy on July 7, 1957. They moved to Henderson, Colorado and raised their four children: Marty, Jolene, LaRae and Shirley.
Robert worked for the following companies as a heavy equipment mechanic and/or operator: Constructors Equipment Company, Kemp & Hoffman, Flatirons Service Company and Wagner Equipment Company. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 9 for over 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Robert was a member of the Brighton Elks for more than 66 years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Louis Cutler, Edith Cutler, and his wife LaWayne. He is survived by his son Marty (Allison) Cutler, and daughters Jolene (Michael) Prill, LaRae Cutler and Shirley Cutler; along with six grandchildren; Amanda, Kaleigh, Michele, Jessica, Hannah, and John; and six great-grandchildren; Mira, Espynn, Link, Kairi, Violet, and Peregrine.
Final arrangements are being handled by Tabor Funeral Home. LaWayne's ashes will be interred with Robert at Elmwood Cemetery. Services honoring Robert and LaWayne will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Tabor Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, Colorado. The family takes great comfort in knowing that Robert and LaWayne will be together for eternity.
