Robert Day Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 31, 2024.
Robert "Bob" Day, 83, passed away December 27, 2024 in the company of his children. Bob was the son of Robert and Anna (Eckenrode) and the husband of Sue (Warner). He was the much loved father of Richard (wife Joanne) and Abby (husband Sean Fox), and the grandfather of Brooke and Ryan (wife Arielle). He was the brother of William (wife Joanne) and Barry (wife Bonnie), and the brother-in-law of Bud (wife Janelle) and Mike (wife Joan). He was the proud uncle to several nieces and nephews. Bob graduated in 1960 from York Catholic and served in the US Navy. He spent his career employed by Caterpillar, retiring in 1998, and the Commonwealth of PA retiring in 2010. He was a lifetime member of the Victory AA. Bob was an avid Orioles baseball fan, enjoyed sports, games and music, playing poker with his good friends, and discussing history, politics, and the news. He was honorable and decent, loyal, easy going, and good natured. He valiantly navigated his heart disease and made many cherished connections throughout that journey. We will miss him deeply.

As a new resident of Longs town Village it has been a pleasure to meet Bob. I enjoyed his company and playing poker with him. May Bob rest in peace.
