Robert Milton (Bobby) Diltz of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away November 13, 2024 at the age of 78. He was born February 8, 1946 to Milton Garren Diltz and Francis Arlene (Bullard) Diltz in Altus, Oklahoma. Bobby married Judy Kay Murphy on August 22, 1969 on the MSU Texas campus in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Bobby was a graduate of Oklaunion High School, where his father was Superintendent, and his mother was a teacher. He graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1969. He was also an active member of the Army National Guard and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Before leading Breegle Abbey Carpet and Floor, he spent 10 years as the Physical Plant Administrator at MSU. He raised his children on the campus of MSU in what is now the Alumni House at Sikes Lake. He began working as the manager of Mel Breegle's flooring company in 1979. He bought the company from Mr. Breegle and was President and CEO for over 44 years.
He was actively involved in various professional and community organizations, including the Wichita Falls Home Builders Association, Better Business Bureau of Wichita Falls, Chamber of Commerce, Kemp Center for the Arts (Board of Directors, Emeritus) and Resource Wichita Falls. He loved his church (Grace) where he was an active member for over 46 years. Bobby was a great supporter of all things MSU and you could always see him in the stands at most MSU football and basketball games. He was a lifetime member of the MSU Alumni Association.
A beloved leader, mentor, and friend, Bobby's unwavering dedication to his work and his community has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bobby was more than a skilled businessman; he was a man of integrity, warmth, generosity and compassion. He cared deeply for his employees and their families, making Breegle's like a family and extended that same care to customers and this community.
Bobby is survived by: His wife, Judy Diltz; sister, Glenna Lou Bagley of Kingwood, TX; his children: Dr. Darla Diltz of Wichita Falls, Day (Diltz) and Buddy Liles of Allen, TX, and Zachary Milton and Abbie Diltz of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Nathan, Noah, Caleb, John Parker and Andrew Liles of Allen, TX and Ada Corene and Eli Milton Diltz of Wichita Falls, TX.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 1:30pm in the Grace Church Chapel in Wichita Falls, TX. Prior to the Memorial Service a private family burial service will be at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta, TX. In honor of Mr. Diltz, please consider a gift to the Grace Church building fund.

I worked for Bobby at Breegle's in the late 80's. He was always kind and cared about his employees and customers. I saw him give people who were down on their luck a second chance. In Bobby's quiet and soft spoken manner he made some recommendations to help me navigate through a difficult time in my life and I won't ever forget it. Thanks for being a good friend and boss, Bobby. You are already missed. You built a lovely family, reputation, and business. Cynthia Scorcio

This obituary does Bobby justice. Always true, always faithful, enjoyed by all. To me, Bobby was a throwback in time. When men were honest, steadfast and committed to making their families, other families and the whole world better.

As a Kappa Sig brother he was a true brother to me. I will always have the fondest of memories for Bobby.
