James Thomas Greenway Jr. 91, of Henrietta, Texas passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025.

The family will be receiving friends between 6 and 8 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Davis Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the funeral home with Mr. Randy Greenway, officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Henrietta.

James was born on October 31, 1933 to the late James Thomas Sr. and Dena Mae (Brumley) Greenway in Frederick, Oklahoma. He met the love of his life, Dorothy Cooper and the couple married on August 9, 1952 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Later, in 1959 the couple moved to Henrietta, Texas in Clay County. They spent many wonderful years together before Dorothy's passing 2015. James was a hardworking man and did about everything. He worked as an electrical lineman, mechanic, night watchman, truck driver and even found time to serve the community on the Henrietta Volunteer Fire Dept. James was known and loved by everyone. He enjoyed going fishing being a Clay County weather watcher and using his ham radio. James loved his family and telling them his history stories. This amazing man will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Along with his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Greenway; and seven siblings.

He is survived by his four daughters, Debra Greenway, Deanna Thoma and husband, Ron, Jamie Bowers and husband, Richard and Pam McVoy and husband, Jim; daughter-in-law, Georgianna Greenway; nine grandchildren, Erik Chandler and wife, Autumn, Katrina Whightman and husband, Malcolm, Heather Freeman and husband, Kevin, James Richard Duke Jr., Justin Andrew Bowers and Ashley, Dustin Adam Bowers and wife, Laura, Brad Greenway, Rica Mitchell and husband, Josh, Kim Box and husband, Brandon, Racheal McVoy and Nathaniel James and Mackinze; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials can be made to the Henrietta Volunteer Fire Dept, 916 W. Spring St. Henrietta, Texas 76365 or Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
