Robert J. Drummond

Robert "Bob" Drummond, 81, passed away on October 16, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob leaves behind Claudia (nee Stagg), his beloved wife of 31 years, his loving children, Evan, Mackenzie and his future daughter-in-law, Courtney DelColle. He also is survived by a wide circle of family members and friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents, John and Mabel Drummond, his brother, Jack, and sister-in-law, Florence, and his favorite in-laws, Fred and Adrienne Stagg. He was a valued friend of Bill W. for more than 46 years.
Bob was a graduate of Nutley High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a pyrotechnic buyer for Cartridge Actuated Devices for more than 30 years.
Bob helped many people during his journey and would go the distance for those in need. He led by example of showing others the importance of living one day at a time and was forever grateful for what that brought him later in life.
As an avid sports fan, Bob loved the Yankees, mostly because Evan did, and in later years they would share a post game cigar on summer nights. He also loved father/daughter breakfasts with Mackenzie at the Pancake House and Suburban Diner and taking starlit walks in the country to teach her about the planets and constellations.
Always a gentle man, Bob had the strength of a super hero as he courageously fought multiple health battles for many years, always with his loving life partner by his side. Even in his darkest hours, Bob always had a smile, a laugh and an "I love you" which made it easier for others.
Bob will be missed by many, including his pets, Leah and Ollie, who always looked forward to his loving touch.
The family would like to thank Valley Hospice staff, and Diana and Naomi for their kindness, care and support.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at the First Congregational Church of River Edge on November 2, beginning at 3:30 PM. The church is located at 109 Continental Avenue in River Edge.
