Robert "Bob" DuChemin

Robert "Bob" DuChemin, 84, of Underwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on December 13, 2025.
Bob was born on June 5, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of John and Mary DuChemin. He dedicated 49 years of his life to education, retiring as a beloved schoolteacher who served at Whiteland and later Salem Elementary Schools. Bob took great pride in his career and in the many students whose lives he touched over nearly five decades in the classroom.
A man of faith, Bob was a faithful member of Scottsburg First Christian Church. He cherished time spent with his family and found joy in life's simple pleasures. Bob loved reading and was especially fond of square dancing, line dancing, and clogging, activities that brought him both happiness and lasting friendships.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of thirty one years, Janet Mull DuChemin; along with six children and eight grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Scottsburg First Christian Church, 255 W. McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana 47170.
