Robert "Bob" Wesley Dunagan, age 88, formerly of Canton, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Family Hospice Care, Huntsville, Alabama. He was born on October 23, 1936 in Canton, Georgia.
Bob attended Canton High School where he was active in sports, playing on the football team. He went on to get his undergraduate degree along with his masters at the University of Alabama. Bob was an educator for a number of years and also worked in sales where he achieved various awards. In his later years, he was employed by the Fulton County Board of Education prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Canton Community Church.
Bob enjoyed cross country bicycling, Alabama football and spending quality time with his family. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews as he loved the time he was able to spend with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hester and Odelle Dunagan, his brother, Steve Dunagan. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Dunagan Howell (Jim), sister-in-law, Delma Dunagan, nieces, Laurie Parnell (Dana), Amy Hall (Charlie), Chris Fleming, John and Je Dunagan as well as great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Gayton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
