Robert Franklin Eslinger, age 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Providence Place in Chambersburg, PA. Born September 30, 1934, in Lemoyne, PA, he was the son of the late Frank P. Eslinger and Bertha M. (Deckman, Eslinger) D’Arcy. Mr. Eslinger was a 1953 graduate of the Chambersburg Area High School and the DeVry Technical School. He was a US Army Veteran serving with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 30 years of civil service from the Raven Rock Mountain Complex (Site R) Fort Ritchie, MD, as a senior electronics technician. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of George Washington Lodge #143, Free and Accepted Masons, Harrisburg Consistory, and South Penn Scottish Rite Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy B. (Snyder) Eslinger. He is survived by a son, Robert A. Eslinger (wife Tammi) of Centerville, OH; four grandchildren, Allen Eslinger (wife Natalie) of Tucson, AZ, David Eslinger of Houston, TX, Ryan Eslinger of Centerville, OH, and Andrew Eslinger (wife Amy) of Tucson, AZ; and five great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Ferguson, Gannon, Zeno, and Calhan. He is also survived by two brothers and three sisters: Jean D’Arcy, Harry D’Arcy, Karen Arnold, Melanie Eslinger, and Laurie (Eslinger) Boltan. He is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Frank P. Eslinger, Jr, Jeff Eslinger, Annalea J. (Eslinger) Logan, and an unnamed infant.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. Inurnment will be private in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
