Robert Milton Garvin age 71, of Weatherford passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, April 4, 2018, with his family by his side. Bob was born September 11, 1946, in Zanesville, Ohio to James and Marian Garvin. Bob loved his country; he fought in Vietnam and retired from the Air Force at the rank of Master Sergeant. Bob worked many years at Lockheed Martin as an aircraft technician after retiring from military service.
His free time was spent on cars, whether working on them, admiring others what to buy next, or most of all riding with his friends in the Parker County Cruisers. He believed in the Christian faith and lived his life by abiding by the The Golden Rule. His love of cars, the flag and his country was well known yet cannot compare to the devotion to his family and selflessness for others. Bob will be dearly missed by the many family, friends and coworkers he touched.
Robert is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jean Garvin; daughter, Rhonda Dobbs and her husband, Tracy Dobbs, their children, Kassi Harwell and her husband, Nathan Harwell, Kaci Dobbs and Tabor Dobbs, daughter, Devi Ludewell, and her children, Debbie McWilliams, and her children; sister, Judy Johnson Dunavent and her husband, Dr. Michael L. Dunavent; sister, Carolyn Wickwire and her husband, Dennis E. West; nephew, Brent M. Johnson and his wife, Carrie Bradfield; plus Jeanie’s 7 additional children, 25 additional grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marian Garvin; nephew, Dean Stewart Johnson; and granddaughter, Denay Birnie.
