Robert Gill Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin & Hightower Funeral Home - Carrollton on Dec. 26, 2025.
Robert Wilton Gill, lovingly known to family and friends as Bobby, passed away peacefully at his home on December 24, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. His life was one marked by quiet strength, steady faith, and a deep devotion to the people entrusted to his care.
Bobby was a devoted husband, a proud family man, a devoted Papa, and a loyal friend. He lived with integrity, humility, and a kindness that never needed to be announced. Those who knew him best will remember the calm assurance of his presence, the laughter he shared, and the way he made others feel safe, valued, and genuinely loved. Family was the center of Bobby's world, and he gave of himself freely, offering encouragement, support, and unconditional love in both words and action.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Bobby carried his sense of duty and strong work ethic into civilian life. He spent many years working offshore as an engineer on oil rigs before becoming a local business owner, proudly owning and operating B&K Core for more than 30 years. He took great pride in honest work and responsibility, values that defined him both on the job and at home.
Cajun through and through, Bobby found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the kitchen. He loved cooking Cajun food and was known for preparing large batches of jambalaya and praline candy to share with family and friends. Those gatherings around the table-filled with good food, conversation, and laughter-were some of his most cherished moments. Bobby was also a proud LSU fan, an avid coin collector, and a brand partner with Juvva. His faith was important to him, and he was a member of Bethany Christian Church.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Deanah Gill; his children, April Gill Phalin, Jennifer Gill, Tina Charlton, Christopher Gill, and Robert Bobby Gill Jr.; his stepchildren, Brooke Davidson, Gage Shearer, Zack Stewart, and Beth Daniel; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Gary Perrault; along with family members and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilton Gill; mother, Claita Mae Verret Gill; sisters, Jeannie Gill and Catherine Warr; and former wife, Karen Gill.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his stepdaughter, Brooke Davidson; stepson, Gage Shearer; granddaughter, Blakely Davidson; sisters, Patricia Perrault and Ashley Perrault; and sister-in-law, Sharmin Orsi, for their dedication, care, and unwavering support during Bobby's transition to Heaven.
A memorial service to honor Bobby's life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Christian Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The family asks for continued prayers, love, and support during this time of mourning.
"Absent from the body, present with the Lord."
