Robert "Bobby" Glover, aged 85, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the Haywood County Community Hospital. Born on March 26, 1940, in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Whiteville, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
Throughout his career, Bobby made significant contributions to various local businesses. He played a vital role in building American Air Filter in Brownsville during the 1960s. Later, he became the owner of Gulf Service Station in Somerville, Tennessee, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, Bobby worked at Wal-Mart and owned a bar in Oakland, TN, where he cultivated many friendships and lasting memories.
Bobby held a deep love for his family and his church, Mt. Pleasant in Whiteville, TN, where he found joy and fellowship. He had a passion for driving race cars, a hobby that brought him happiness and excitement throughout his life.
Bobby is survived by his cherished family, including his son, Jerry Glover, Sr. (Shannon) of Brownsville, TN, and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Glover Galbraith (Ron) of Port Richie, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Glover of Meridian, MS, and his sisters, Christine Glover of Memphis, TN, and Sherry Carothers (Hoyte) of Ruskin, FL and sister-in-law, Sandra Glover. Bobby’s legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Glover, Jr. (Kaitlin), Jason Wesley Glover (Tracye), Joseph Wade Glover, Aliceson Byrd (Lane), and Karoline Hobock (Grant), as well as his 14 great-grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Ewing Wesley and Mamie Louise Pennington Glover; his brothers, Donald Glover and James Glover; his sisters, Evelyn Louise Glover and Carol Bruce; and his grandson, Danny Ray Sweat, Jr.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jerry Glover, Sr., Jerry Glover, Jr., Jason Glover, Joseph Glover, Chip Glover and Shane Glover.
Bobby Glover leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate with all who knew him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
