Robert R. Gonzalez, Age 92, passed away on October 7, 2025.
Robert R. Gonzalez, affectionately known to all as Bob, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 7, 2025, at the venerable age of 92. Born on March 16, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, Bob was a lifelong resident of the city he adored, and it was in this beloved city that he drew his last breath. Bob was a devoted family man, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Mary (nee Martinez) Gonzalez, whose memory continued to be a beacon of love and strength throughout his life. Bob's legacy is carried on by his loving daughter, Linda Gonzalez Tido, and her husband Chris; his son, Robert Jr., and his wife Belinda; his grandsons, Vicente J. Baena and Deidre, and Michael Baena; his granddaughters, Elisia and Maria Gonzalez; and his great-granddaughters, Leia and Lilliana Baena. He is also survived by his brother, Trino Gonzalez, his sister, Sally Mendoza, and is fondly remembered as a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. One of Bob's greatest joys was taking his family on road trips every summer. These adventures across the country fostered a sense of wonder and togetherness that his children and grandchildren will forever cherish. The memories created during these journeys became a tapestry of stories that Bob loved to recount, each tale infused with laughter.
Rest in peace, Robert R. Gonzalez. Your memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and we are grateful for the time we had with you. Your journey on earth has concluded, but the path you forged remains, lit by the love and joy you shared with us
