Robert Hawkins Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 4, 2023.
Robert was born in Houston, Texas in 1970 to Robert "Bob" and Marsha Wolford Hawkins. He graduated from Bellaire High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. For 24 years, Robert enjoyed serving his community as a police officer with the Austin Police Department.
He took great pride in mentoring young officers and having a positive effect on their lives. After retiring from the APD, he enjoyed touring the country and the world as tour manager for his dear friend, Dale Watson. He loved the opportunity to make new friends at every venue.
Robert valued his time spent with his son, Jackson, who shared an interest in airplane and tank model building and collecting military figurines. Jackson and Robert also shared a love of Texas and military history as well as their interest in the Houston Astros' baseball and Raider's football.
Robert "Hawk" also enjoyed riding motorcycles and founded the Gunslingers Motorcycle Club with his friends. He watched it grow to 21 chapters across the country.
He is survived by his mother, Marsha Wolford Hawkins; his son, Jackson Cash Hawkins, and Jackson's mother, Emily Crain; numerous "aunts," "uncles," and cousins; his life-long friends from Houston; his Music Family; his brothers in Gunslinger Nation; and his many Brothers in Blue.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749.

There are no words that can be offered to ease the pain of such a great loss. HAWK was a Founding Father of this great Gunslingers Motorcycle Club. He was respected and loved by each and every one of us. His love for his Brothers was immeasurable and made the club a true FAMILY. As we move forward we will cherish all the great memories, because HAWK was the best of us. May we all strive to be the man and Brother he showed us we can be. Rest in peace Brother, rest in peace.
