Robert “Mr. Bob” James Hoehn, age 95 of Hendersonville, TN passed away January 11, 2026 at the NHC Place Sumner. He was born on June 20, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1948 until his Honorable Discharge/Retirement in 1975. During his time in the USAF, he traveled the world and took part in the Korean & Vietnam War. He held several positions from being a Military Police Officer, to a Fuel System Mechanic on the B52 bomber. After his military service, he settled his family in Hendersonville, TN.
Mr. Bob married Florence Rose Hoehn (Calfo) on January 11, 1958 at Holy Rosary Church in Allegheny, PA. In their younger years, Mr. Bob & Flo, enjoyed roller skating, square dancing, and cruising around in their 1956 Pontiac convertible. He enjoyed every type of sports, he was part of the USAF boxing team with opportunities to travel and compete around the world. He also took pride in winning a Golden Glove in 1948. After retirement, he stayed active with the Hendersonville Parks & Recreation, officiating Basketball, Baseball/Softball, and Football until he finally hung up his whistle at the age of 82. Mr. Bob was also a substitute bus driver for over 20 years. He enjoyed helping others and made friends everywhere he went.
Bob's family meant everything to him; he was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, definitely one of a kind.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Kenny James Hoehn, his parents, and eight siblings. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence Rose Hoehn (Calfo); two children, Daniel R Hoehn (Tracey) and Teresa Marie Alderson (Barry); three grandchildren, Brandon Jacob Hoehn, Dylan Chase Hoehn, and Brady Roy Alderson, and eight great-grandchildren.
At the request of the family, there will be no public services. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at NHC, as well as the CARIS Hospice staff for all the compassionate care given to Bob. The family requests no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
