On January 11, 2025, the world lost a remarkable man. Robert Derwood Hoff, born on August 24, 1948, in Elizabeth City, NC to Robert Thomas and Mary (Griffin) Hoff, lived a life defined by integrity and unwavering love for his family.
Robert (Bob) will be remembered for his unconditional love, sense of humor, and devotion to his family. He enjoyed gardening with his wife, fishing, golf, travel, and outsmarting his opponents in a spirited game of spades. Raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Bob graduated from Norview High School in 1966, served aboard the USS Kennedy in the U.S. Navy, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion University in 1974. Before retiring, Robert worked as President for a plumbing buying group in OH. The last 17 years of Bob's life were spent in Garrettsville, OH where he and his wife, Linda, enjoyed a life filled with love and happiness.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Hoff, daughter Laura Nicole Hoff, son Robert Douglas Hoff, brother John Douglas Hoff and his wife Jan, sister Suzanne Hoff Ange and her husband Mike, three nephews, three nieces and many great nephews and nieces.
Robert was predeceased by his parents.
A private family Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Bob's memory may donate to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Care for Bob was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
