Robert Jackson, affectionately known as "BOBBY" by friends and family, was born to Mary and Willie Jackson in Marysville, California, on January 9th, 1955. Bobby was the third oldest of 11 children. He spent his early years in Marysville and Oroville until the late 1960's then he relocated to Chico, where he lived with his Aunt Anna, Uncle Reverand William Forrest, cousin Deborah, and many of his younger brothers and sisters.
Bobby attended Bidwell Junior High School, then graduated to Chico Senior High School. He is known all over the Chico and Oroville areas, where he was well-loved by many. He had this big smile followed by a loud laugh that would bring a smile to others. If you had the pleasure of calling him your friend, then you have experienced his big heart and his everlasting love.
Bobby's parents, Mary and Willie, preceded him in death, as well as his siblings, Yvonne Jackson-Zumber, Willie (Billie) Jackson, LaVonne Jackson, Elaine Jackson, Robin Jackson-Anderson, Ricky Jackson, Rosemary Johnson, his Aunt Anna, and Uncle Willie Forrest. Bobby always referred to Aunt Anna as his "best friend".
He leaves to cherish his love and memory his brother Ronnie (Shari) Jackson, and half-siblings Billy Johnson, and Bertha Johnson, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Although he did not have any children of his own, Bobby loved all his siblings' children and his extended family. He also leaves behind many friends who mourn his loss, who loved him and will miss him.
Bobby's family would like to thank everyone for the many calls, texts, posts, and prayers. We appreciate all the love and support at this time of loss. A Memorial service will be held on Friday August 29,2025 at 1PM at Brusie Funeral Home. Please join us at the Repast, at the Dorothy F. Johnson Center in the Chapman Town neighborhood following this ceremony.
